Using Infographics For Online Marketing
As far as online marketing is concerned, it’s easy to fall into familiar habits involving hours of fruitless emailing and phoning various websites in the hope they will make a small mention of your own business. Offering written content pieces can be beneficial as many blogs are keen to add to their own sites with relevant stories and personal accounts. For example, rather than starting a long paragraph with ‘14 million people in America have a visual impairment’, it would be better to show a coloured map with different colours showing the varying statistics. This allows the viewer to quickly and easily interpret the information in a fun, visual way.
Do: Use some of your own imagery, perhaps product imagery, to put your business in the best light.
Don’t: Go overboard with images, arrows and boxes. Keep. It. Simple.

Marketing your infographic
When using the traditional channels to promote your content, you will find that infographics are much more readily accepted by websites and blogs. Keep an eye out for blogs heavy on visual content as these are likely to look for images to add to their site.
Alternatively, if you choose to go down the social media route, the key is to appeal to the millions of Twitter/Facebook members who spend their days sharing, liking and retweeting anything they fancy. To tap into this market, it needs to be share-worthy. This means it’s a good idea to design the infographic on a topic relevant to current news or events (e.g. for a fashion piece, ‘How to dress like One Direction’ would be a sure-fire hit).
